On Monday, March 3, Governor Masuzoe met with Mr. Ssu-Tsun Shen, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan, at his office inside the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building.
During the meeting, the governor said, "Please allow me to once again express our sincere gratitude for the generosity of the Taiwanese people, and the donations that were collected for Japan following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. This year, a historic exhibition of works of art from Taiwan's National Palace Museum will be held at the Tokyo National Museum and Kyushu National Museum. I am truly looking forward to seeing these marvelous pieces on loan from Taiwan. As we prepare for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will work hard to have the privilege of welcoming many athletes and spectators from Taiwan. We certainly hope that many people from Taiwan will come."
