On Thursday, March 27, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of the Hong Kong-Japan Business Co-operation Committee, and other members of the committee paid a courtesy call on Governor Masuzoe.
During the meeting, the governor said, "Tokyo will host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020. I hope that many people from Hong Kong will visit our city and that we can convey to visitors from around the world the attractions of Japan and Tokyo, both in terms of sports and culture. Currently, we are drawing up an ambitious plan for reforming Tokyo, centering on deregulation, in order to raise the city's prominence as a global business center. I think Hong Kong and Tokyo can cooperate, and compete, with each other in a friendly manner to build a win-win relationship."
The Hong Kong-Japan Business Co-operation Committee was established in 1979 with an aim of promoting trade, investment, and other forms of economic cooperation between Hong Kong and Japan. The members of the committee include businesses from various industries ranging from trading to logistics, financial services, manufacturing, construction, and engineering.
