On Wednesday, June 3, Governor Masuzoe attended a meeting with prominent figures from the field of culture to exchange views on the leading projects of the cultural program for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
At the meeting, the governor said, “The 2020 Games is a grand festival of culture, and presents a prime opportunity to make Tokyo an even more culturally rich city. The leading projects of the cultural program are particularly important in attracting people’s attention. I believe the success of the cultural program, not only that of the sporting events, is crucial for the success of the 2020 Games, so please share your candid opinions.”
The meeting was also attended by playwright, theatre director and actor Hideki Noda, artist Katsuhiko Hibino, and contemporary artist Kohei Nawa. The participants discussed matters such as the content of the leading projects, the progress of preparations, and future developments. The leading projects will be implemented after the end of the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
