On Thursday, June 18, H. E. Mr. André Aranha Corrêa do Lago, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Japan, paid a courtesy call on Governor Masuzoe.
At the meeting, the governor said, “I look forward to the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. I think Rio’s organizers have faced numerous challenges in preparing for the Games, and we would like to learn from their experience. Tokyo will fully support the success of the Rio Games. This year, Brazil and Japan are celebrating the 120th year of diplomatic relations. There are many Japanese Brazilians in your country, and we feel close to Brazil. Also, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the friendship city relationship between São Paulo and Tokyo. I hope we will be able to further deepen the ties with São Paulo, too.”
