Invest Tokyo Seminar in NY: Ride Tokyo’s Momentum

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is advancing with its program to encourage foreign companies to expand into its special economic zone, with the aim of drawing more investment, talent, and firms from around the world and transforming Tokyo into a city that is even more open to global business.

The TMG is pleased to announce that it will hold a seminar in New York City as a new part of its efforts to attract foreign companies to the Japanese capital.

To be held on July 10, 2014, at the Nippon Club, the “Invest Tokyo Seminar in NY: Ride Tokyo’s Momentum” will bring together businesspeople interested in seeking opportunities in Japan.

Approximately 70 people from companies and other entities based outside of Japan

5. Programs include:

- Opening remarks by the Ambassador and Consul General of Japan in New York
- Keynote address by Mr. Sean King, Senior Vice President at Park Strategies
- Presentations on emerging business opportunities in Japan, the allure of Tokyo, and the TMG’s support services for foreign companies

In fiscal 2013, the TMG’s Special Zone project successfully attracted foreign business, with 11 companies deciding to expand their operations to Tokyo under the scheme, surpassing the target of 10. Six of them are in the healthcare industry, two in environment-related businesses, two in IT, and one in content creation.
