The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is surging ahead with its program to attract foreign companies to the city. This aims to draw investment, talent and firms from around the world with the goal of becoming a city more open to global business.
As a part of such efforts, the TMG will be holding the “Invest Tokyo Seminar 2015” to broadly publicize its initiatives to foreign companies and foreign and Japanese entrepreneurs planning to set up operations in Tokyo, as well as to foreign embassies and chambers of commerce in Tokyo. At the seminar, the changing face of Tokyo and the business opportunities that can be found in the city as it prepares to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be introduced, along with details on the business and living support services provided by the Business Development Center TOKYO1, operated by the TMG, and the Tokyo One-Stop Business Establishment Center2, which is managed by both the TMG and the national government.
1Business Development Center TOKYO: A comprehensive, one-stop consultation desk that provides business and living support to foreign companies starting up business in Tokyo. By providing business exchange support and specialized consulting services, it supports companies in developing business in Japan.
2Tokyo One-Stop Business Establishment Center: A consultation desk that unifies the procedures foreign companies and startups need to complete to establish a business. Experts and staff knowledgeable in administrative procedures provide assistance for the prompt completion of various filing procedures required when establishing a company or starting up a business, including certification of articles of incorporation, company registration, taxes, social security, and immigration.
