The following message of condolence was sent by Governor Masuzoe to the Governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin.

Dear Governor Alckmin,

I was very saddened to learn of the devastating damage inflicted by torrential rain and flooding in São Paulo. On behalf of the citizens of Tokyo, a friendship city of the State of São Paulo, I pray for all the victims and express my sincere condolences to their families. I sincerely hope that the affected area will quickly overcome this unfortunate disaster.
