SYMPOSIUM The Tokyo Metropolitan Government White Paper on the Social Participation of Women: Toward a Tokyo where everyone can lead fulfilling lives

In February 2016, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced its White Paper on the Social Participation of Women. This is the first white paper of its kind compiled by a local government in Japan and lays out policy directions based on a firm understanding and analysis of the current situation for women in the large metropolis of Tokyo.

This symposium will include a panel discussion about the proposals contained in the white paper, including providing broader career opportunities for women, introducing flexible work styles, and facilitating women’s participation in local community activities. The concluding presentation on practical ways for improving business competitiveness through women’s participation will be of interest to many, including business leaders and managers.
