The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) will hold its annual Tokyo Great Garden Campaign from Saturday, March 17 to Sunday, April 15 to coincide with this year’s sakura cherry blossom season.
More Japanese gardens will be participating than ever before this year, with 29 locations slated to take part in the event. During the campaign, participating gardens will offer extended opening hours, nighttime illumination, free guided tours in English, Japanese tea service, performances and more to bring the unique charm of each garden to regular and new visitors alike.
TMG cordially invites you to revel in the spring atmosphere of these historic Japanese gardens.

Rikugien Gardens will offer extended hours to 9:00 pm from March 21 to April 5 (last entry at 8:30 pm).
Visitors are invited to view this storied Japanese gardens that once belonged to a famous daimyo, and its legendary 15 m tall, 20 m wide weeping sakura tree – one of a number of famous individual trees throughout Tokyo – in gorgeous illumination. The park is a spring icon and sees many visitors every year, but this event offers a rare opportunity to enjoy the park’s fantastic night views.
