Governor of Tokyo to Join the "2 Years To Go to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Countdown Event”

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo will attend the "2 Years To Go to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Countdown Event” on Tuesday, July 24 during the Countdown Ceremony from 19:00 to 20:00. With the competition starting in two years, this is an opportunity for many people to participate in building up momentum toward the opening of the Games.

Location: Tokyo Skytree Town(R) (Oshiage 1-1-2, Sumida-ku, Tokyo)
Content: Tokyo 2020 sponsors and Olympic venue cities' booths and exhibits, competitive event experiences for visitors, photo opportunities with the mascots, a stamp rally, and more.

Countdown Ceremony (19:00 - 20:00)

Location: Special Stage in Sky Arena, 4th Floor, Tokyo Skytree Town(R)

*Note: 731 is for the number of days until the opening of the Olympic Games (2 years).

TMG will start fundraising and install a donation box at the event site for assisting the lives of disaster victims in the Heavy Rain of July 2018.

Volunteer PR Event (17:30 - 18:15)

Location: Special Stage in Sky Arena, 4th Floor, Tokyo Skytree Town(R)

  • Recruiting of Games Volunteers and City Volunteers begins in September 2018. To introduce the different volunteer activities prior to the recruiting drive, a information session will be held featuring Olympians, Paralympians, and experienced volunteers.
