There will be many booths in the four categories of “i (clothing),” “shoku (food),” “ju (building),” and “kou (manufacturing),” where visitors will be able to not only see and buy traditional crafts but also observe craftsmen at work and try their hand at various activities.
A variety of activities by artisans will be brought together to help visitors better understand craftsmanship in a broad range of fields. These include the display of a wooden Japanese teahouse assembled on site in the traditional manner that uses no nails or adhesives and on-stage demonstrations of futon making and ice sculpting.
