The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torchbearers
Kicking off to recruit torchbearers to run in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Task Force will start recruiting Olympic Torch Bearers to participate in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay through the Tokyo Metropolitan Area from Monday, July 1 which will be held prior to the opening of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. We look forward to receiving a lot of applications.

4. How to Apply

Fill out and submit the application form on Tokyo Metropolitan Torchbearer Application Requirements special website. Alternatively, fill in the prescribed application form provided by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government etc., and post it to the address below.

(5) Nomination Process

We will select candidates for each municipality you wish to run in provided in the application.

(6) Announcement of Nomination

The Tokyo Metropolitan Task Force will notify you of the results of the selection from December 2019. (Applicants who submit their application through the website will be contacted by e-mail. Those who mail in their application will be notified by mail.) After that, the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee will send a formal notice to the selected applicants, only those who are selected will be notified. (Applicants not selected will not be notified.) You will be informed you of the details of the announcement as soon as the decision has been made.
