Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs
In the tourism industry, legislation has been developed to allow the employment of more foreign nationals: for example, a law to grant residence status for designated skills in the hotel and restaurant fields was enacted in April 2019.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will hold the 3rd edition of web workplace visits & exchange meetings for international students in order to make further use of foreign nationals in the tourism industry to meet medium-to-long term demands from inbound tourists in view of post-COVID development.
TMG will implement a web program for workplace visits & exchange meetings to deepen understanding about workplaces and work in the tourism business in Tokyo and facilitate the exchange of opinions with foreign employees. (All sessions carried out in Japanese.)
