In preparation for 2020, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG), the four prefectures of the Hokuriku region (Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui), and air and railway operators have jointly established the “Tokyo and Hokuriku Region Council to Attract More Foreign Travelers” so that foreign independent travelers visiting Tokyo can easily visit the Hokuriku region. Promotional activities highlighting the features of both Tokyo and the Hokuriku region are underway.
Ads aimed at foreign independent travelers to Tokyo will be displayed at airports and train terminals, providing information on tourist attractions in Tokyo and the Hokuriku region, along with how to travel to the Hokuriku region.

The TMG, together with regions around Japan, is implementing the ALL JAPAN & TOKYO Project, an industry promotion program that utilizes the strengths of Tokyo and those regions with the goal of yielding high benefits for both parties. The Tokyo and Hokuriku tourism campaign is being implemented as a part of this initiative.
This project is part of the “Action Plan for 2020.”
