Office for Promotion of Citizen Safety
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government promotes the appropriate employment of foreign nationals and the prevention of the employment of illegal workers assigning December as the Foreign Nationals Appropriate Employment Promotion Month.
During the month of December, TMG will provide employers with information about appropriate employment such as how to check the residence card of potential employees along with explanations of which residence status permits work to raise public awareness so that we create an environment that prevents illegal employment.
From Tuesday December 1 to Thursday December 31, 2020
TMG will implement street campaign activities at two locations in Tokyo in cooperation with the Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau, the Tokyo Labor Bureau, the Metropolitan Police Department, Tokyo wards/cities, and other related organizations. In the campaign, we will distribute a Foreign Workers Employment Manual that explains points to note when hiring foreigners and a memo pad listing the points to check on the residence card, aiming to raise awareness about the promotion of appropriate employment of foreign nationals and the prevention of the employment of illegal workers.
(Activities will be implemented taking infection prevention measures.)
1)Tuesday December 15 11:30 to 12:15 at Shinagawa Station Konan Exit square
2)Thursday December 17 11:30 to 12:15 at Shinjuku Station premises
During the campaign period, we will display images for the prevention of the employment of illegal workers using a large digital signage installed in the underground square at the Shinjuku Station West Exit.
