Increasing exchanges for seniors: Tokyo Enjoy!

“2023 Tokyo Senior Community Exchange Meeting: Tokyo Enjoy!” was held at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza in Chofu City. A dancing competition was held on January 17, and Go, shogi, and health mahjong competitions on January 24.
On February 4, a karaoke competition was also held in Kodaira City.
On January 24 at the Go and shogi competition, participants were selected by lottery to play a Go match with a professional player, and you could see them enthusiastically playing their matches.
A woman in her 60s from Higashi-murayama City who participated in health mahjong said, “I started mahjong after a friend invited me. I never get tired of mahjong, and it is fun because the moves are different every time.” A woman in her 70s from Hino City who participated in go said, “It is very fun to be able to play against various people. What makes Go great is that you can think regardless of winning or losing. I hope this event will continue to be held from next year.”
This was the first time the competition was held in about three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
