On April 25, an award ceremony was held for medalists of the Beijing 2022 Winter Games.
The Tokyo Citizen Sports Grand Prize was awarded to medalists of the Beijing 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games with ties to Tokyo, such as living or working in Tokyo, and the Tokyo Honor Award” was awarded to gold medalists.
There were seven recipients in total. Four medalists attended the awards ceremony: Olympic figure skater Wakaba Higuchi, women’s Para alpine skier Momoka Muraoka, men’s Para alpine skier Daiki Morii, and men’s Para cross-country skier Taiki Kawayoke.
Higuchi said, “I was able to do my best because of everyone's support. I will keep doing that so I live up to this award”.
